The big holiday! I was in Africa for work and we decided to drop William off at the grandparents and for Karen to fly over to meet me so we could do a Safari. We had two days in Singita Ebony Lodge Sabi Sands and two days in Singita Sweni Lodge Krugar National Park. At each place we arrived around lunch time and had four game drives, the first being that afternoon, then a morning and afternoon followed by a morning before having to pack to leave.

Staying in two different places was by accident as the place we were trying to book did not have availability when we wanted to go for more than two days, however, I'm really pleased that it worked out this way as each location has completely different terrain creating different opportunities to see different animals. I truly feel that we were lucky to experience some of the animals we got to see. As this is our first Safari, we have nothing to benchmark it against, but we got to see a few rare animals.

The links below go to a page with photos from each game drive that shows the variety of animals we saw. There's somewhere between 15 to 25 photos on each page to show the variety, but I was taking around 250 photos per drive ..... so next time you come round I'll get out the slide projector! Seriously though, the photos here are low resolution. The actual images have amazing details (enough so you can see each hair on some of the cats) and I will probably get some of them printed and framed.
