Lake Lagunitas

So, I've started getting out more, going on these scenic walks. I've been taking my camera on the off chance that I see something exciting and want to snap a quick picture. The first couple of pictures below are from Milagra Ridge, but I only took a couple of shots there so it didn't seem worth creating a page just for them so I included them here. Milagra Ridge is in Pacifica (South Bay) and provides a very easy walk on mostly paved surface, so pretty good for the stroller. The only problem with it is that it's not secluded so you can see houses everywhere you look - which is why I only ended up taking a few pictures, including some where I was trying to be artistic by lying on the floor and pointing up to get a photo of Karen and William with a Pill Box in the background. Didn't really work, but the thought was there.

Lake Lagunitas, on the other hand, is in the middle of nowhere at the foot of Mount Tamalpais in the North Bay. Somewhat more popular than Milagra Ridge though so there were many more people around. We started off by going up a path that was akin to trying to climb the North face of the Eiger (I still don't know why - wasn't my idea), but we gave that up pretty quick and went for a walk round the lake. There's actually loads of wildlife around, but my entourage of a squeaky stroller and air raid siren two year old meant that everything ran and hid as soon as we got near. The photos of the birds were taken with my massive zoom lens (first time I've had the opportunity to use it) given that we couldn't get close to them. There are some pretty good pictures of the lake with reflections and I'm quite pleased with the ones I got of the bloke fly fishing.
