Garin March 2011

After a lot of rain, finally managed to get another trip out before starting work in April. Went in search of a ring-necked duck that had been reported at Jordan Lake in Garin Regional Park. Found the duck and managed to photograph it - my first ring-necked. I quite like the ring-necked duck as it's distinguishing mark is a large ring around the end of its beak. Would seem to me that there could be a better name for it, but who am I to pass comment? Anyway, the birds photographed are:

  • American Coot
  • American Goldfinch
  • American Robin
  • Anna's Hummingbird
  • Black Phoebe
  • California Towhee
  • Chipping Sparrow
  • Dark-Eyed Junco
  • House Finch
  • Mallard
  • Red-Tailed Hawk
  • Ring-Necked Duck
  • Scrub Jay
  • Spotted Towhee
  • Western Bluebird
