Humbolt Bay National Wildlife Refuge May 2012

In a moment of inspired insanity, I decided to head up to Eureka for the long weekend. Fancied going somewhere different and I'd seen it on the map as you fly over and the name sort of stuck with me as a fun sounding place. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a little out of the way so to speak. Anyway, weather wasn't great, but we did manage to get out to the wildlife refuge. Photographed:

  • American Goldfinch
  • Black Phoebe
  • Canada Goose
  • Common Raven
  • Great Egret
  • Mallard
  • Marsh Wren
  • Pied-Billed Grebe
  • Savannah Sparrow
  • Song Sparrow
