Laguna Seca NCRC Point By August 2019
A return to Laguna Seca and the well known corkscrew. Some really nice photos taken from behind the corkscrew as opposed to the from where you see the drop. These just look like you're driving off the edge of a cliff ... which isn't too far from the truth I guess. It's honestly not that bad of a turn, but I suppose all turns aren't too bad until you get them wrong. Photos of me are again from gotbluemilk.com. I did take a couple of photos of the car next to me in the paddock as it was a really beautiful 70s Mustang that had been built up and I thought it looked amazing.
Unfortunately I forgot the holder for the GoPro, so couldn't attach it to anything. This meant I was back to using the phone to record on its wibbly wobbly stand. The first video starts on lap 2 even though it says lap 1. For some reason it thought I was in the pits for the whole lap and was sounding an alarm as I was going over the pit speed (obviously). I love the app I used to record the telemetry (TrackAddict), but why on earth would you have it bong at you. If I were racing, I'm not going to be relying on hearing my phone bong to tell me I'm over the pit lane speed. Anyway, I've turned all the sounds off so it won't happen again. That said, someone phoned me in the first video, so you'll hear the intro to Green Day's Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.
