Hayward Shoreline April 2023

It's been a long while. A very long while if I'm being honest. Seven years since I last went on a birding trip. Ironically, it was to the same place as this, the Hayward Shoreline. I did think it might be. Anyway, this was as much, if not more, a trial run of the new mobility scooter I've just bought that I intend to use to get out and about a bit more and do some more of these trips (can't really call them walks if I'm on a scooter). I didn't have my camera, so all of these pictures are taken on my phone, hence the quality is quite poor. It was great to get out and about, to see nature again and to hoon it along a dirt path up until I noticed I'd blown out the front right tire. We may need to find a solution for this. Anyway, as best I can tell, what I managed to photograph was the following:

  • Canada Goose
  • Lesser Scaup
  • Little Egret
  • Long-Billed Curlew
  • Mallard
  • Semipalmated Plover
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Western Sandpiper
