Black Diamond Mines May 2009

Finally, a decent day weather-wise at the end of this long weekend. A trip to Black Diamond Mines was the order of the day - a place that's been on the cards for a while. I have to say, a very interesting hike, albeit testing me to my limits given the amount of climbing and the narrowness of the path in places. That's probably why I enjoyed it as it was a pretty good test for me. Also produced some interesting birds as follows:

  • Acorn Woodpecker
  • Ash-Throated Flycatcher
  • Berwick's Wren
  • Dark-Eyed Junko
  • European Starling
  • House Wren
  • Pacific-Slope Flycatcher
  • Say's Phoebe (I think)
  • Turkey Vulture
