Laguna Seca Speed SF & NCRC Mixed April 2026

It's been a while, but William was back for Spring Break and there was a 103db event at Laguna Seca so I thought why not? Well, because I'm falling to bits. I ended up in hospital beforehand. I was released late Friday. I came home, packed the car, got some sleep and then headed down in the morning. Honestly didn't think I was going to get out, but I made it. The first session went fine - the car is crazy fun. The second session ended up with me being on my own for most of the time on the track. I had started to feel a little funny so I decided to come in, but I came up to the back of a Porsche and decided to do one more lap so that I got to pass something. I then came in and had literally no brakes when I got into the pits. I had slowed right down, thankfully and I did get the car back to the paddock and stopped with no issue. I'm waiting to get the car in for a full diagnosis, but some help from some super nice people think it was caused by overheat and potentially my hand controls had stopped the pedal from fully returning ... we will see.

There was a private event there by SP Motorsports. The pictures are of their cars except the McLaren - that was someone on his own. That McLaren is absolutely gorgeous. I mean, the Lambo's are pretty nice too, but that McLaren! The guys at SP Motorsports were amazing. They let us sit in their tent to get out of the sun. Orlando was amazing - they were so friendly it's unreal. The Lambo's are running in the IMSA series and I wish them all the success. Strange as it may seem, it was a really enjoyable day even with with brake scare. Unfortunately a Lotus did end up in the wall at the corkscrew. Hard to tell if it was written off, but there was a fair amount of damage to the front left of the car. Nobody was hurt and hopefully it's not too much damage, but realistically, you don't hit a wall and get away lightly.
