Garin Again June 2009

Another trip to Garin to see what was there and to try a longer hike. Didn't disappoint - there were plenty of birds around. Got some reasonably good photos although I didn't manage to catch everything - the Bullock's Oriole got away. That said, I think we got a Western Kingbird for the first time. The ones I did manage to capture are as follows:

  • American Kestrel
  • American Robin
  • Black Phoebe
  • California Towhee
  • House Finch
  • Lesser Goldfinch
  • Pacific-Slope Flycatcher
  • Red-Tailed Hawk
  • Scrub Jay
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Western Bluebird (I think, although it has a very gray head and looks like a cross between a bluebird and kingbird)
  • Western Kingbird
