Driving to Manuel Antonio

These are some pictures taken during the drive to Manuel Antonio from Arenal and the return from Manuel Antonio to San Jose. There are only a few pictures here, but there are some of the scarlet macaw. We were lucky enough to see the birds on both trips (in the same place). On the way to Manuel Antonio our driver spotted them, on the way back we had stopped for the crested caracara and I spotted them. On the first sighting I had my camera on the wrong setting (I'd knocked the button). On the return we didn't get very close to them, the best being a tightly cropped picture peering through a hole in the tree's leaves. Still, we got to see them. On this page:

  • Brown Pelican
  • Chestnut Mandibilled Toucan
  • Collared Aracari
  • Crested Caracara
  • Grey Hawk
  • Magnificent Frigatebird
  • Scarlet Macaw
