Although the weather wasn't too great, we decided to take the two hour drive over to Point Reyes to do something different and to let Karen and William go down to the lighthouse (I'm not going to tackle the 290 steps). Well, we froze to death, but it was well worth it. As we were walking up the hill, several people mentioned that there were whales around. The first thing I saw when I got to the top, however, was a peregrine falcon. Turned out there was a pair of them on the side of the rocks. The whales didn't disappoint either as they showed themselves. They weren't really posing for the camera, but I did manage to get a couple of them flicking their tails out of the water which was quite good as, for the most part, they were just rolling near the top of the water.
In addition, we got close to a kestrel and a few red-tails. And I shouldn't forget to mention the little sparrow we saw at the beginning.
