I've pre-ordered my copy through a site that gives you a key on the release day that you can use to download the game. It was cheaper than the official site(s). Will I get my key this week to download Borderlands 4?

Yes, indeed! I did get my game key and it downloaded and installed correctly. There are some performance issues with the game, but it’s playable and I’m working through it.
