Unfortunately we won't find out until mid month. To give a little context, he has to interview for his job because folks are being let go, but he wants the redundancy package. Beyond me why voluntary redundancy isn't an option, but its probably due to some HR bollocks to show you're not being biased in your decision. Anyway, I still think he keeps it.
