Location: Sepang International Circuit
The Sepang International Circuit is a world-renowned motorsport race track located in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia, approximately 45 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur. Designed by the famous German architect Hermann Tilke and opened in 1999, the 5.543-kilometer (3.444-mile) circuit is celebrated for its sweeping layout, featuring 15 turns and two massive, high-speed straights connected by a unique, palm-tree-shaped grandstand. It layout is highly demanding on both drivers and machinery due to its complex mix of tight hairpins, flowing high-speed corners, and the intense tropical heat and unpredictable torrential rain of Malaysia. While it famously hosted the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix from 1999 until 2017, it remains a premier global racing hub and a favorite fixture on the MotoGP calendar.
