Question:

Alright, so I can't let my cat out now as I have to monitor him going to the toilet to make sure he doesn't get blocked again. I've bought a cat harness so I can take him for a walk outside and I'm planning to try it out tomorrow for the first time. I am, however, worried that he will escape the harness and run off. He'll come back, so it's not going to be a problem, but it will mean that I can't take him out again. It seems that if he walks forward, he'll be fine, but if he manages to pull backwards, he'll slip out of it. Will Zaphod slip his harness when I take him out for walks this week?

Analysis:

Interestingly enough, he didn't slip his harness, so most of you were right. That said, he didn't exactly like the experience. He really liked me putting the harness on him. I think it was because of the attention and fusses he was getting whilst I was doing it. When it was on he tried to bite the straps which was pretty normal. As soon as I attached the leash, he sat on the floor and refused to move. I thought I knew what to do so I opened the French doors and he literally flew outside until he got to the end of the leash. He then proceeded to sit down and not move, then suddenly fly somewhere. I did think about this and he needs training on it. The problem is that I can't pick him up when he's being awkward which makes it difficult. I have to tug at the leash and that's met with meows that seem to signal that he doesn't like it. We may have another go. I'm not sure yet though.
